A Day in my Life

A Day in the Life of a Crochet Artist: Where Devotion, Home, and Handmade Creativity Meet
When people imagine the life of a crochet artist, they often picture long, peaceful hours spent surrounded by colourful yarn, quiet creativity, and gentle inspiration. While there is truth in that image, my real days are woven with many more threads—devotion, responsibility, and passion, all finding their place in a beautifully busy rhythm.
This is what a day in my life truly looks like.
Early Mornings: Welcoming the Day with Stillness
My day begins early—at 4:30 AM, when the world is still wrapped in silence.
I start with a morning walk, breathing in the fresh air and enjoying the calm before the day unfolds. These quiet moments help clear my mind and energise my body. Often, this is when ideas gently surface—colour combinations, new crochet patterns, or design tweaks for custom handmade orders.
It’s a peaceful beginning that grounds me before the many roles I step into.
Beginning with Devotion and Faith
After my walk, I turn inward.
The next two to four hours are devoted entirely to prayer, chanting, and spiritual reading. As a devotee of Lord Krishna, this time is sacred to me. It is during these hours that I feel most connected, calm, and centred.
This spiritual practice shapes everything I do. The patience required in crochet, the care I put into every handmade piece, and the intention behind my work all flow from this grounding. In many ways, every crochet creation becomes an offering—made with gratitude and love.
Life as a Homemaker: Balancing Daily Responsibilities
As the morning progresses, the home comes alive—and so do my responsibilities.
Being a homemaker means constantly shifting between tasks: managing the kitchen, caring for the household, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. The work is continuous and demanding, yet deeply fulfilling. It teaches organisation, adaptability, and care—qualities that also reflect in my handmade crochet products.
Between these responsibilities, I consciously create small pockets of time—moments where creativity can quietly exist.
Making Space for Crochet and Creativity
Crochet weaves itself into my day in gentle, meaningful ways.
Some days are dedicated to custom crochet orders, where I focus on details, durability, and finishing every piece with care. Other days are reserved for exploration—experimenting with new stitches, trying fresh colour palettes, or developing new designs for future collections.
Whether I’m crocheting flowers, home décor, accessories, or personalised gifts, every stitch carries my journey within it. My crochet work is shaped by patience, discipline, and years of lived experience.
A Life Beautifully Stitched Together
From the outside, my days may seem full—even overwhelming at times. But when I pause and reflect, I see something beautiful.
I see a life carefully woven together—where devotion, homemaking, and handmade crochet exist side by side, like different colours in a single piece of work. Being a crochet artist isn’t just about creating beautiful items; it’s about finding beauty within a full, meaningful life.
With every early morning walk, every prayer, every household task, and every stitch of yarn, I’m not just creating crochet—I’m creating a life filled with purpose, gratitude, and heart.
One humble, handmade day at a time. 🧶💛
