Others—like this one—begin as a simple idea, floating lightly from a child’s imagination and landing straight in a mother’s heart.

One day, my daughter shared a wish with me. She wanted a crochet t-shirt, but not something ordinary. She imagined a white t-shirt transformed with colourful, fancy crochet sleeves—something playful, expressive, and completely unique.

That one small idea sparked a creative journey that turned into one of my most cherished handmade crochet projects.

From a Simple T-Shirt to a Statement Piece

The foundation of the project was intentionally simple: a clean, plain white t-shirt. I wanted the crochet to stand out, to tell its own story without competing with the base.

For the sleeves, I chose granny squares—a timeless crochet pattern that carries nostalgia while allowing endless creativity. Each square was crocheted individually, with careful attention to colour combinations. I wanted the sleeves to feel vibrant but not overwhelming, playful yet balanced.
