Stitching Dreams into Reality: The Story of Crochet by Shivani

Welcome to Crochet by Shivani
Hello, I’m Shivani—the hands, heart, and soul behind Crochet by Shivani. This little corner of the internet is where my lifelong love for crochet has finally found its voice. Every piece you see here is made slowly, thoughtfully, and with a whole lot of warmth—because for me, crochet has always been more than just a craft. It’s a story, a memory, and now, a second chapter of my life.
Where the Thread First Began
My journey with crochet started much earlier than this business. As a child, I attended crochet classes where patience was the first lesson. For months, all I was allowed to make were simple chains—row after row, day after day. At the time, it felt repetitive, but looking back, those chains taught me discipline, focus, and respect for the craft. Only after I mastered the basics was I allowed to move on, stitch by stitch, into more complex patterns.
As I grew older, crochet stayed with me. Before marriage, I spent hours creating pieces—experimenting, learning, and making things simply because I loved to. But life has its own rhythm. Marriage, managing a household, and raising children naturally took priority, and crochet slowly moved to the background. The hooks were packed away, but the love for the craft never truly disappeared.
A New Beginning at 45
Years later, on a Mother’s Day that changed everything, I received a gift—crochet flowers. As I held them in my hands, something clicked. I realised, this is something I can do. Not just can do—but something I used to do, something that once brought me so much joy.
That moment sparked a quiet but powerful return to crochet. At the age of 45, I picked up my hooks again—this time with experience, patience, and a deeper appreciation for handmade work. What began as reconnecting with an old passion soon turned into a renewed sense of purpose. And that’s how Crochet by Shivani came to life.
Handmade with Love, Made Just for You
One of the most beautiful things about crochet is how personal it can be. No two handmade pieces are ever exactly the same, and that’s what makes them special. Over time, my collection has grown to include a variety of thoughtfully crafted items, each designed to bring comfort, beauty, and joy.
